About this test
Everyone flirts — the question is how. This test maps your natural style across five classic approaches: Physical (electric presence and confident touch), Traditional (proper courtship and romantic gestures), Polite (respectful, slow-burning warmth), Sincere (deep questions and genuine connection first), and Playful (banter, teasing, and flirting as a game). Through 45 dating and social scenarios — parties, apps, coffee shops, group hangs — you'll find out which style you lead with, and why some people read your signal instantly while others miss it completely.
What you'll discover
Physical
Confident body language, easy touch, and an electric presence that signals interest without a word.
Traditional
Classic courtship — clear intentions, proper dates, romantic gestures, and follow-through.
Polite
Respectful, rule-conscious, slow-burning warmth that would rather undershoot than ever come on strong.
Sincere
Deep questions and genuine interest — emotional connection first, everything else after.
Playful
Banter, teasing, and inside jokes — flirting as a game played purely for the joy of it.
Understanding the Flirting Style Test
The Flirting Style Test helps you understand the way you naturally signal interest in dating and social situations. Instead of asking whether you flirt “well,” it shows the style you tend to use most often when you meet someone you like, from more direct and touch-based behavior to gentler, more reserved, or more teasing approaches. By working through real-life scenarios, you can see which cues feel most natural to you and which ones may come across differently than you intended.
Your results can be useful if you’ve ever wondered why some connections feel easy right away while others seem to stall. Knowing your flirting style can help you communicate with more confidence, notice your default habits, and better understand how other people may interpret your tone, timing, and body language. It can also be a helpful conversation starter with a partner or a fun way to reflect on your dating pattern without overthinking it.
Because the test looks at everyday situations, it gives you a practical snapshot of how you tend to act in the moment, not just how you think you behave in theory. You can take the test for free, see your scores for free, and then unlock the full written analysis if you want a deeper explanation of what your pattern means.
Where the Flirting Style Test comes from
Jeffrey Hall and colleagues developed the Flirting Styles Inventory in 2010, identifying five distinct approaches to communicating romantic interest.
How the Flirting Style Test is scored
Scores across physical, traditional, sincere, polite and playful styles. The research found styles differ in how readily interest is recognised — people using the polite or sincere styles are frequently not noticed at all, which is the practically useful finding here.
