What aesthetic am I?
In this quiz, your aesthetic is the style whose rooms, clothes and weekends sound most like yours. Your answers score ten aesthetics: cottagecore, dark academia, old money, minimalist, streetwear, boho, grunge, Y2K, coastal and coquette. The one you score highest on is your aesthetic, and you see it free the moment you finish. Most people lean toward two or three, so the full report shows all ten scores.
About this test
Ten aesthetics, fifty statements about everyday taste: the room you'd love to wake up in, what you wear on a lazy Sunday, the music on while you cook, the colors you keep buying. The quiz scores all ten, from cottagecore and dark academia to old money, minimalist, streetwear, boho, grunge, Y2K, coastal and coquette, and the one you score highest on is your aesthetic. The full profile shows how close the other nine came. It's a style quiz made for fun, not a personality test.
What you'll discover
Cottagecore
Country cottage life: gardens, baking, linen, florals and slow days.
Dark Academia
Old libraries, tweed and wool, candlelight and deep browns and greens.
Old Money
Quiet, well-made classics with no logos: navy, cream, cashmere and loafers.
Minimalist
Bare surfaces, neutral colors, few things, each one chosen.
Streetwear
Sneakers, hoodies, caps and loose fits, shaped by hip-hop and skate culture.
Boho
Loose layers, earthy prints, plants, rattan and a free-roaming weekend.
Grunge
Flannel, ripped denim, worn boots and loud guitars.
Y2K
Early-2000s shine: chrome, glitter, tinted glasses and pop.
Coastal
White linen, blue stripes, driftwood and a breezy, sunlit home.
Coquette
Bows, lace, pearls and soft pinks with an old-fashioned romantic streak.
Understanding the Aesthetic Quiz
This aesthetic quiz gives you 50 statements about everyday taste, five for each aesthetic: the room you'd want to wake up in, what you wear on a lazy Sunday, how you spend a free afternoon, the music you put on and the colors you keep buying. It takes about 8 minutes. Your aesthetic is free when you finish. The full report scores all ten, so you can see if you're all dark academia or dark academia with a strong pull toward old money.
We picked the ten by what people look up. In the US, cottagecore is searched about 60,500 times a month and dark academia about 49,500, and coquette, Y2K, grunge and old money style each draw thousands of searches a month too (Google Keyword Planner, October 2026). Several popular ones didn't make the cut, goth, fairycore and clean girl among them: ten was as many as we could score evenly in 50 statements. One of each aesthetic's five statements is phrased the other way round, so agreeing with everything doesn't push any style to the top.
Some of these names are old. Bohemian has meant an artist's unconventional way of living since the 19th century, and grunge fashion grew out of the rock scene of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Others, like cottagecore and dark academia, are recent labels that spread on social media. None of them is a personality type, and nothing here is research-based: we chose the aesthetics and wrote the statements, and another author could sort the same answers differently. Use your result as a starting point for a room, a closet clear-out or a mood board, not as a label you have to live up to.
Where the Aesthetic Quiz comes from
This quiz is our own construction. The ten aesthetics are style labels in wide use, chosen by how often people search for them in the US (Google Keyword Planner, October 2026). A few are decades old: bohemian has described an artist's unconventional way of living since the 19th century, and grunge fashion grew out of the rock scene of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Others, such as cottagecore and dark academia, are recent labels that spread on social media. None is drawn from a published instrument.
How the Aesthetic Quiz is scored
Five statements per aesthetic, one of them reverse-keyed, each aesthetic scored from 5 to 25. The highest score is your aesthetic. It measures the taste you describe in rooms, clothes, pastimes, music and colors, and the statements that stand for each aesthetic are our choice: someone else could describe the same styles with different ones.

Questions people ask
Is the aesthetic quiz free?
Yes. The quiz and your aesthetic are free, with no account needed: just your email at the end. Every score, the written analysis and the certificate are in the full report: $1.99$2.41 in the first 30 minutes after you finish, $3.99$4.83 after that, or included in eTestor Unlimited.
What are the different types of aesthetics?
There are dozens, and new names appear every year. This quiz scores ten of the most searched: Cottagecore (gardens, baking, florals), Dark Academia (old libraries, tweed, deep browns), Old Money (quiet, logo-free classics), Minimalist (few things, neutral colors), Streetwear (sneakers, hoodies, loose fits), Boho (flowing layers, plants, earthy prints), Grunge (flannel, ripped denim, loud guitars), Y2K (early-2000s shine), Coastal (white linen, blue stripes, driftwood) and Coquette (bows, lace, soft pinks).
How do I find my aesthetic?
Start with what you already reach for: the clothes you wear most, the photos you save, the room or café where you feel best. Look for what repeats, such as colors, materials or a decade. The quiz does the same thing in a structured way. Then change one thing at a time rather than buying a whole new look: it's cheaper, and easier to undo if it turns out not to be you.
Can I have more than one aesthetic?
Yes, and most people do. Your aesthetic is simply your highest score, and some pairs overlap a lot: dark academia and old money both like wool, wood and old things, and boho and cottagecore both like plants and natural fabrics. The full report shows all ten scores, so you can see your mix.
Is the aesthetic quiz a personality test?
No. It describes taste, not personality, and it has no research behind it. Taste also moves with age, money, where you live and who you spend time with, so if you take it again in a year, a different aesthetic may come out on top.
