Political Compass Test
Two axes. Four quadrants. Where do you land?
About this test
A single left-right line cannot capture real political identity, so this test measures two independent axes — your economic views from left to right, and your social views from libertarian to authoritarian — through 48 balanced statements on taxation, markets, regulation, civil liberties, tradition, and authority. Every statement is phrased neutrally and the test is evenly keyed in both directions, so no quadrant gets an unfair head start. Your two scores combine into one of four quadrants, each with a detailed portrait of how that worldview thinks.
What you'll discover
Economic Axis
Your stance on how an economy should be organized — from collective provision and redistribution (left) to free markets and private enterprise (right).
Social Axis
Your stance on personal freedom and authority — from individual liberty and self-determination (libertarian) to order, tradition, and strong institutions (authoritarian).
